Terms of Service
Last updated: October 27, 2026
MyCRC Solutions Inc. (“MyCRC”, “us”, “our”) provides Canadian criminal record check reports (the
“Services”) directly to individual users (“you”, “your”). Any reportable findings (“Reports” and
each a “Report”) resulting from the Services are delivered directly to you. These Terms of Service (“Terms”)
govern the Services and your use of mycrc.ca and app.mycrc.ca (together, the “Website”).
Services
- By accessing the Website or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, as well as any additional service terms governing your use of a particular Service, all of which are incorporated by reference. Subject to the exclusions in these Terms, they are the entire agreement between you and MyCRC regarding the Website and the Services.
- MyCRC may revise these Terms at any time. Revised Terms take effect when posted to the Website. MyCRC will give notice of any revision that may substantively affect or restrict your use of the Website or Services. The Terms that apply to an order are the Terms in effect when that order was placed.
- You agree to pay MyCRC for each Service at the price shown to you on the Website at the time of purchase, including applicable taxes (the “Fees”). Fees are paid in advance by credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Any optional add-ons are shown to you, with their price, before you pay.
- You agree to use the Services in accordance with these Terms and all applicable local, provincial and federal laws, rules and regulations, including privacy, consumer and data protection legislation (“Applicable Laws”).
- By requesting a Report, you agree that:
- you are the age of majority in your province or territory;
- you have the right and authority to provide the information you submit;
- you have only disclosed information that is true, accurate and not misleading (including by omission);
- you are the person the information relates to, and you are completing identity verification yourself and not on behalf of anyone else; and
- providing the information does not breach any legal obligation you owe to a third party.
- You agree not to use the Website for any unlawful purpose or any purpose other than the one MyCRC makes it
available for. You will not:
- transmit data that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory or discriminatory;
- violate our intellectual property rights;
- unlawfully gather information about others, or use information from the Website to harass, abuse or harm anyone;
- impersonate another person or use another person’s account;
- transmit malicious software or code, or attempt to disrupt or test the security of the Website or our systems;
- use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to retrieve, index or copy the Website or its data;
- make improper use of our support services, or submit false, speculative or fraudulent requests;
- modify, frame, mirror, sell, reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Website, or use it to build a competing product; or
- remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or other notices on the Website.
- To use the Services you register an account and verify your email address (“Account”). You agree that your registration information is true, accurate and complete; that you are responsible for activity under your Account and for keeping access to your email account secure; that you will not access the Website through automated means; and that you will not transfer or resell your access.
What you are buying
- The Service is a name-based Canadian criminal record check. It searches the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), the RCMP’s national database, using your name and date of birth to confirm criminal convictions. The Report is delivered online as a PDF.
- The Service is not a Vulnerable Sector Check. Roles working with children, older adults or other vulnerable people usually require a Vulnerable Sector Check, which is obtained in person through your local police service. The Service is also not: a fingerprint-based certified criminal record check; valid for immigration or visa purposes; a provincial ministry program check; or a search of Canada Border Services Agency or United States Customs records. The Report does not usually include offences committed as a youth.
- Whether a Report is accepted is decided by the organization that asked you for it, not by MyCRC. It is your responsibility to confirm with that organization, before you order, that a name-based Canadian criminal record check obtained online from a third party meets its requirements. By accepting these Terms at checkout, you confirm that you understand the Service is not a Vulnerable Sector Check. Your acceptance is recorded and forms part of your order.
- Your information cannot be changed once you submit it. Before you submit, you review your information and confirm that it is accurate. It is then used exactly as entered, including your legal name, date of birth and criminal history disclosure. A Report cannot be edited or rerun. If information was entered incorrectly, the only remedy is a new order, charged in full.
Turnaround and results
- Reports can be ready in as little as 15 minutes and take about 4 hours on average. These are estimates, not promises. Turnaround depends on completing identity verification, the accuracy of the information you provide, and our police partners. Optional add-ons do not guarantee a turnaround time.
- Every finished Report has one of three statuses, set by the police and the RCMP: Negative (no criminal record was found matching your name and date of birth), Positive (a criminal record was confirmed), or Incomplete (the police could not confirm a result from a name-based search alone; fingerprints taken in person are the next step). A Report with any of these statuses is a finished, delivered Service. A Discrepancy noted on identity verification does not change that.
- When your Report is ready we email you to say so; the Report is not attached to that email. You can download it from your Account. You are responsible for any decision to share your Report.
Refunds and disputes
- If you stop before finishing every step (ID photo, selfie, confirming your information and consenting to send it to the police), your report is never made available, and you can email support@mycrc.ca for a full refund.
- Once you finish every step, your report is available to download as a PDF, and it is not refundable for any reason, whatever the report says.
- A new order is always a new purchase. You may place a new order at any time, and it is charged in full. See our Refund Policy.
- If you have a concern about a charge, please contact
support@mycrc.cabefore contacting your card issuer, so we can resolve it directly. If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, you agree that MyCRC may provide the issuer with the records of your order, including your acceptance of these Terms, the information you confirmed under section 11, and your Report status.
Accuracy, corrections and deletions
- In accordance with our Privacy Policy, you may ask us to correct inaccuracies in your personal information, or to delete information you provided, as permitted by Applicable Laws.
- After you receive your Report, you can raise a concern about the accuracy or completeness of its results by
emailing
support@mycrc.ca. MyCRC will pass your concern to our police partners. A Report cannot be edited or rerun (see section 11); a different result requires a new check, or a fingerprint-based check through a police service. MyCRC is a criminal record check provider and cannot grant or process record suspensions (pardons).
Electronic transactions
- By using the Services you agree to transact electronically. An electronic signature is the legal equivalent
of a manual signature, and using a keypad, mouse or other device to select a button or check a box, including
checking the box to accept these Terms, is a valid signature. No certification authority or other third-party
verification is needed to validate it. You may withdraw your consent to electronic signature by contacting
support@mycrc.ca. - To get a paper copy of forms you sign through the Website, contact
support@mycrc.ca.
Third-party services
- Parts of the Services are performed by third parties, including identity verification, payment processing and the search itself, which is performed using the technology of our screening provider, Certn Inc., and our police partners. The Website may also offer services created and maintained by third parties unaffiliated with MyCRC (“Third-Party Services”), including offers shown after purchase. You use Third-Party Services at your own discretion and under their own terms and privacy policies, and MyCRC does not own or control them.
- MyCRC makes no warranty about the accuracy, reliability, security, completeness, usefulness or quality of any Third-Party Services, and you bear all risk of using or relying on them.
Intellectual property and licence
- All intellectual property rights in the Website and Services, including the MyCRC name, logos, designs, domain names, text, graphics, software and data compilations (“Intellectual Property Rights”), are owned by or licensed to MyCRC and protected by the laws of Canada and international conventions. Except as these Terms allow, no part of the Website may be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed or used commercially without MyCRC’s prior written consent.
- Subject to these Terms, MyCRC grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Website and Services for your personal, non-commercial use. Violating this licence may result in its immediate termination.
- Anything you send us through the Website, forms, email or chat (“Contributions”) is treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
- The Website and Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, MyCRC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and makes no warranty that the Website or Services will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that any result will be accurate or meet your expectations.
- The Website uses the internet and internet-connected servers, sometimes operated by third-party providers, with industry-standard security measures. No security measure is 100% effective.
- A Report is not MyCRC’s opinion. It records information MyCRC receives from its police partners, and MyCRC accepts no liability for opinions, recommendations, decisions or actions taken in reliance on it, including any decision by a third party to accept or reject your Report.
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyCRC and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from information you disclose to MyCRC, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
- TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MYCRC (INCLUDING ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS) IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, RELIANCE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF REVENUE OR PROFITS) ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES. MYCRC’S TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU ACTUALLY PAID IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, UP TO A MAXIMUM OF $1,000 CAD. THIS IS YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, AND THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF A LIMITED REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
- Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties or liabilities to be excluded or limited. Where a disclaimer or limitation is held invalid, it does not apply, and the rest of these Terms remain in force.
Termination
- If we reasonably believe an order is fraudulent, or that you have breached these Terms or Applicable Laws, MyCRC may cancel your Service requests, restrict your future use of the Services, and inform the relevant individual and the competent authorities.
- MyCRC is not liable to you or any third party for terminating or limiting your access to the Website or Services.
General
- MyCRC’s failure to enforce any right in these Terms is not a waiver of it. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable, or severed, and the rest of these Terms remain valid. These Terms create no partnership, joint venture or agency between you and MyCRC. MyCRC is not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- These Terms and all matters relating to the Website and Services are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

support@mycrc.ca, or write to MyCRC Solutions Inc., 1006 Fort Street, Suite 300, Victoria, BC V8V 3K4.
